DYNAMIC SPACE LAUNCHES INTO PRODUCTION

Johannesburg. Six months ago when Cheryl Whitehead from cellular Dynamics converted a 1400m² run-down building in Kew into fully functional production offices she knew she could offer her clients an ultimate service. Dynamic Space offers the film industry short-term fully furnished production offices. Each space is individually set up with high speed uncapped wireless internet access. There are also pre-installed phone and fax lines with pre-allocated numbers.

Around the corner from Sasani Studios and only a short distance from O R Tambo airport places Dynamic Space in the ideal location. Motorways and top Johannesburg hotels, such as The Melrose Arch are only a few kilometers away. The premises are secured with electric gates and individual alarm systems. The inside parking bays give the client peace of mind during the long and often late hours spent at work.

A boardroom, a wardrobe room and a make-up facility with mirrors, lights and high chairs are adjacent to a 114m² studio with easy access and loading space.

“When we arrived on Sunday it took 10 minutes and we were up and running”, says Stillking Films’ Charlie Hey. ‘Because Cheryl understands the technical aspects of a production set-up we knew we were in very capable hands. It’s been fantastic”.

Apart from all the elements required for a streamlined production, Cheryl has not forgotten that her clients also need to chill out. Enjoy a drink at the bar; sit by the fireplace or at the outside ‘Mozambiquan’ lounge. Take a break over lunch in the atrium, have a quiet conversation in the Zen garden or sip sundowners on the upper deck.

The space was designed by local artist, Johan van Staden from XSF Creative. Each office has been crafted and created with an individual and distinctive flavor. Together with Egyptian artist Youseff Matta, every door, desk and table has his creative touch. Van Staden used different techniques, materials, woods and stains. Goods have been recycled and items have been used for something that they were not originally intended for.

It is a functional yet fun environment mixed with top service that Cellular Dynamics is known for. The on-site staff is knowledgeable and friendly, offering their clients service of the most unusual standard.
